Processes4Planet
Processes4Planet is a co-programmed partnership between the process industries and the European Commission under Horizon Europe, based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the European Commission (the public partner) and A.SPIRE (the private partner and the representative of the process industries).Â
The partnership aims to transform the European process industries to achieve circularity and overall climate neutrality at the EU level by 2050 while enhancing their global competitiveness.
European Aluminium
European Aluminium, founded in 1981 and based in Brussels, is a member-based industry association representing Europe’s most complete and thriving metals value chain.
Our 100+ members include primary aluminium producers; downstream manufacturers of extruded, rolled and cast aluminium; producers of recycled aluminium and national aluminium associations, representing more than 600 plants in 30 European countries.
European Aluminium’s mission is to create the conditions for the European aluminium industry to grow, evolve, and help build a more sustainable world. Together with our members, policy makers and other stakeholders, we want to realise our vision of a competitive, decarbonised and circular European aluminium industry serving a thriving European society.
SUSTAINair
In the evolving landscape of aviation, the importance of sustainability and innovation has become evident. With the urgency to address environmental challenges, industries across the globe are striving to shift away from traditional paradigms.
The SUSTAINair project serves as a successful innovation project driving circular aviation and shaping the future of air travel.
The SUSTAINair project gives the aviation sector a transition runway to a low-carbon, competitive economy while tackling the increase in resource consumption, waste and emissions along the entire aviation component value chain.
The European Automotive Research Partners Association (EARPA)
The European Automotive Research Partners Association (EARPA) brings together the most prominent independent European R&D providers in the automotive sector.
EARPA helps enable organisations to actively contribute to the European Research Area and the future EU research and technological development funding programmes. EARPA currently has 61 members ranging from large and small commercial organisations to national institutes and universities.Â
DATA4CIRC
DATA4CIRC (Data-driven AI-assisted digital framework for enhancing circularity in manufacturing) is a Horizon Europe project promoting circular value chains in the manufacturing sector with the aim of reducing environmental impact and improving data exchange and product traceability. The project coordinators, Idener.ai, based in Sevilla, Spain lead the development and validation of the project’s digital tools and platform. The project’s 12 European partners, plus the University of Osaka, Japan, as associated partner, are working to formulate circular business models which prioritise the needs, expectations and experiences of end-users. Moreover, an upskilling and reskilling training programme will be designed and conducted to facilitate the uptake of digital tools in the manufacturing workforce.
Validation and demonstration of the DATA4CIRC solution will be achieved via three use cases (agricultural plastics, Waste Electronics & Electrical Equipment (WEEE), and Automotive parts, in particular, platinum group metals, thereby consolidating successful progress from TRL4 to TRL6.
COMPASS
The COMPASS project, funded by Horizon Europe, aims to revolutionize remanufacturing of sheet metal and thermoplastic composites for aerospace and automotive industries. By applying circular economy principles and digital tools like product passports, it enables efficient tracking and reuse of materials from decommissioned vehicles and aircraft, reducing reliance on landfill and raw materials.
The project unites 13 partners from several European countries to develop processes for up to 30% remanufacturing, cut CO2 emissions, and promote data standards, new business models, and remanufacturing skills. COMPASS’s innovations help industry transition to greener practices, boost environmental savings, and create added value through advanced recycling and reuse of end-of-life components.
